MOBILE, Ala. -- Spring Hill now has a hometown hero available to play point guard. Senior Tempey Hamilton signed today to play basketball at Spring Hill College said Murphy coach Fannie King-Brown. The 5-foot-6 guard also recruited by Belhaven (Miss.), Millsaps (Miss.), Auburn-Montgomery, Concordia, as well as several junior colleges.
"It felt right when I went on my visit to Spring Hill," Hamilton said. "I think it was the right fit academically, as well as on the court." Hamilton averaged 14.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game for the Lady Panthers this season. Spring Hill finished 3-26 and lost in the opening round of the GCAC Tournament earlier this month.
Tempey started at point guard for Bama Storm for three seasons. While with the storm, Tempey averaged 10.4 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds per game.
Tempey's leadership on the court was perhaps her greatest contributions to the team's success. Coach Brian Thomas was quoted as saying that "Tempey was an extension of the coaching staff on the court".
We are proud to say that Tempey is and always will be a member of the Mobile Girls Basketball Association. Go Storm!
